The Political Committee met with a delegation from the Kurdish National Council on Tuesday in a bid to emphasize the importance of working jointly towards overthrowing the Assad regime and achieving the Syrian people’s demands for freedom and dignity.
Both sides praised international efforts to find a political settlement in Syria that leads to getting rid of the repressive regime and building a democratic state.
The parties also stressed the integrity of the Syrian territories and unity of its people, and reiterated their renunciation all forms of violence and extremism, particularly that of ISIS.
The meeting discussed greater cooperation and coordination between the two parties and the fundamental role of the Kurdish bloc in the Syrian Coalition play. It also discussed activating the document signed between the Syrian Coalition and the Kurdish National Council and the need to introduce the Kurdish issue at the elite and popular levels.
Both sides agreed to hold further meetings and consultations and to develop practical steps to enhance communication between the Syrian Coalition and the Kurdish National Council. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
