Members of the Syrian Coalition condemned the terrorist attacks that targeted restaurants in the city of Qamishli yesterday. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the bombings that left civilians killed and injured.
Member of the political committee Hawas Khalil attributed the surge of terrorism in Syria to the international community’s inability to cut the roots of terrorism; namely the Assad regime and its allied militias.
“Russia’s daily crimes in Syria and its bombing of civilians, infrastructure and health and education facilities hinder the political solution and prolong the suffering of the Syrian people. They also create the appropriate conditions for ISIS to grow and fester,” Khalil added.
Member of the Syrian Coalition Nora al-Ameer also condemned the Qamishli attacks, likening them to the Assad regime’s terror attacks against the Syrian people. “The real fight against terror in Syria requires political change in accordance with the Geneva Communique of 2012 and the formation of a transitional governing body with full powers. Yesterday’s bombings in Qamishli provide further proof that Assad’s survival will only lead to the expansion and growth of terrorism and terrorist organizations,” Al-Ameer stressed.
