A Syrian Coalition delegation met with the UN envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura today in Geneva. The meetings come ahead of de Mistura’s Syria report submission to the UN Secretary General on Monday. The delegation head is Khaled Khoja with VPs Hisham Marwa, Mustafa Osso, political committee members Ahmed Ramadan, Hassan al-Hashimi, Badr Jamous, and Hadi Al-Bahra.
The meeting itinerary included a discussion for a political solution and mechanisms to implement the Geneva Communique as well as a discussion around the results of de Mistura’s recent tour in the region.
The Syrian Coalition reiterates its commitment to a political solution based on the Geneva Communique to initiate a transitional process through the formation of a transitional governing body excluding Assad, the ruling elite and all those who have committed crimes against Syrians.
The Syrian Coalition emphasizes that the transitional governing body is qualified to lead Syrians, eradicate terrorism – growing and flourishing largely as a result of the Assad regime’s policies. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
