Alia Mansour, member of the political committee, said that statements by Ali Hajizadeh, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, warned of the collapse of the regional alliance that Iran, Russian and the Assad have been trying to build in the region at the expense of the blood of the Syrian people.” Hajizadeh said to the Iranian Fars news agency that “86 world countries stood and said the Syrian government should be changed and Bashar Assad should go, but they failed because Iran’s view was to the contrary.” Mansour points out that the Iranians are trying through these statements to put an end to the arrogance of the Assad regime represented a few days ago in the words of Assad’s advisor Buthaina Shaaban, who attributed the regime’s survival in power to the “steadfastness of Assad,” remarks that she soon retracted.” Nora Al Ameer, Vice President of the Syrian Coalition, said that “this is normal, as the slave cannot rebel against his master, though sometimes there is resentment. The regime’s retraction of these remarks confirms that Syria is militarily occupied by Iran and Hezbollah, and that those two are credited for the survival of the Assad regime.” Mansour calls on the international community “to document this recognition by the Iranians that they are taking part in the killing of the Syrian people and hold them accountable along with Bashar al-Assad for the war crimes committed against humanity.” Mansour also said that “it is unlikely that the Assad regime would disagree, especially since it is nothing more than a puppet in the hands of the Iranian and the Russian regimes that serves their interests in the region. It seems that the Iranians have finally realized they will be defeated by the will of the Syrian people, which prompted them to reconsider their policies in the region. In a similar vein, Al Ameer said that “it’s strange how Assad and his cronies rushed to retract Shaaban’s statements on Facebook for fear of causing wrath of his masters, while not lifting a finger to deny or explain the use of barrel bombs and toxic gases to kill civilians in Daryya, Harasta, and Kafr Zeita and elsewhere.
