Secretary-General of the Syrian Coalition Mohammed Yahya Maktabi expresses concern over the deal reached on Iran nuclear program, voicing fears that this deal may have been struck at the expense of other issues in the region, especially Iran’s flagrant intervention in the region.
“Iran has a long history of misleading the international public opinion. While the Iranians claim their intervention is aimed fighting terror, it continues to sponsor extremist groups such as ISIS, the Hezbollah militia, and Abu al Fadl al Abbas Brigades,” Maktabi added.
We understand the scale of Iran’s involvement in Assad’s genocidal war against the Syrian people, reflected in the unlimited support in men, materiel and money as well as planning and training led by Qassem Soleimani.
“We have deep fear that Iran will use the money that is going to be released as part of the deal to step up is intervention in the region thus further fueling the war. No doubt the Iranian regime will use these assets to prop up Assad who will use them to sustain its killing machine and hold on longer to power. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
