Hadi Al-Bahra, President of the Syria Opposition Coalition (SOC), held a virtual meeting with the leadership of the Assyrian Democratic Organization, led by Gabriel Moshe Koriya. They discussed the latest on-ground developments and the political situation in Syria.
The meeting was attended by SOC Vice-Presidents Abdel Majeed Barakat and Dima Moussa, Abdulahad Astepho, coordinator of the Foreign Relations Department and the Organization’s representative in the SOC, along with Assyrian Democratic Organization’s Deputy Head Bashir Saadi, Executive Office member Koriya Shabo, General Secretariat member Kebro Romanos, and Public Relations Office member Kiryakis Koriya.
This meeting reflects SOC’s commitment to enhancing cooperation and coordination with all segments of the Syrian people. They aim to work together to change the Syrian reality and increase international interest in Syria, pushing for the implementation of UN resolutions, notably the Geneva Communique of 2012, and UN Resolutions 2118 and 2254.
Attendees emphasized the need for periodic meetings to include all members of the Assyrian Democratic Organization. This aims to intensify communication, identify energies within Syria, and integrate them into a unified national project.
Discussions focused on conditions in liberated areas and the SOC’s plan to advance northern Syria by restoring production, boosting the economy, providing job opportunities, improving services and living conditions, and strengthening judiciary and governance systems.
The audience received a briefing from the Assyrian Democratic Organization on the situation in northern and eastern Syria, particularly the Al-Jazira region, and their vision for the political process.
