Hadi Al Bahra, Secretary of the political committee, said that “the attack carried out by Iraqi PM Nouri Maliki’s air force on targets inside Syria is a breach of Syria’s national sovereignty.” Iraqi government said that their air force attacked a convoy of fuel tankers that were heading towards the border and were due to supply ISIS militants in Iraq’s Anbar province. Bahra also stated that this transgression on Syrian soil is a result of the Assad regime’s inability to secure the Syrian borders. “We all know of the coordination between the Maliki government and the Assad regime since the outset of the revolution to shed the blood of the Syrian people. It has become clear that most extremist groups in Syria were exported by the Maliki government to Syria in coordination with the Assad regime. Thousands of extremists broke out of the Iraqi prisons in the early days of the revolution in mysterious circumstances.” Bahra concluded his remarks stressing that the Maliki regime is a strategic ally of Assad, as it facilitated the entry of the Iraqi sectarian militias to Syria to back his regime in its barbaric attacks against the Syrian people, thus endangering not the only the interests of the Syrian people, but also the interests of all the peoples of the region.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
