The Syrian Coalition extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mohammed Fleitani who was assassinated in Douma, Damascus. “We demand bringing to justice the perpetrators of this heinous crime and all previous crimes, such as the kidnapping of activists Razan Zeitouneh and Adnan Wehbe. The Assad regime has a long history of assassination of politicians and the kidnapping of activists and all sympathizers with the cause of the Syrian people.” The Syrian Coalition points out that the town of Douma, the epicenter of the Syrian Revolution in East Ghouta, woke up to the sounds of treacherous shots that penetrated the body of the nationalist dissident Mohamed Fleitani, one of the most prominent leaders of the revolutionary and political movement in the Syrian Revolution.” Fleitani descends from a family known for its long history of nationalist and democratic dissent. He was involved in anti-regime political activity over the last decades, so he was detained many times during the reign of Hafez al-Assad and in the reign of his successor. However, this did not prevent him from continuing his struggle for freedom and democracy. When the Syrian Revolution broke out he engaged in civic and democratic activities and was a great example in the interaction with the younger generation of revolutionaries in the town of Douma.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
