Badr Jamous, Secretary General of the Syrian Coalition, condemns the Assad regime’s ongoing aerial campaign on Aleppo where at least 20 civilians were killed and dozens wounded in barrel bomb attacks on Bustan al-Qasr district. Jamous reiterates calls for providing the Syrian rebels with the means to defend civilians, especially anti-aircraft weapons to neutralize the air force of the Assad regime that is destroying the infrastructure of the country and rain death on civilians.” Natheer Alhakim, member of the political committee, said that “we understand the fears of some countries that anti-aircraft weapons might fall in the wrong hands, but the international community can neutralize Assad’s air force that has been raining barrel bombs on civilians through imposing a no-fly zone over Syria. The international community can also directly intervene to protect civilians who are being massacred by the Assad regime, but it does not have the will to enforce the international law and hold Assad accountable.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
