Hadi Al-Bahra, former President and Member of the political committee, said that the Assad regime steals relief and food aid destined for the displaced people and people affected by its ongoing brutal acts to distribute it to its troops and the mercenaries it imports across the border.
Syrian local activists published photos of relief aid packs and food parcels bearing the logos of the United Nations and the International Red Crescent rebel fighters had found inside the Al-Mastuma army base which they overran two days ago. Many Syrians expressed shock and disappointment toward what they said the unreliability of UN relief teams who were supposed to hand in the aid to the needy households.
Bahra calls on the United Nations to investigate these reports with its partners on the ground, calling also for re-evaluation of the way this aid is distributed and for holding those responsible for these errors to account. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
