Spokesman for the Syrian Coalition Salem al-Meslet said that Assad’s Air Force is aiding ISIS in its attack on rebel strongholds north of Aleppo, adding that the Assad regime seeks to facilitate ISIS’s takeover of all rebel-held areas so that the situation in Syria is seen as a war between him and terrorism. “Since its inception, ISIS has set upon attacking rebels whenever they make gains against regime forces, which indicates that Assad’s forces are collapsing and are now unable to deploy all over Syria.
“We call on the international community to establish safe zones for Syrians to protect them from Assad’s aerial attacks and to prevent Assad’s air force from acting as ISIS’s air force. We also call for supplying Syrian rebels with advanced weapons to repel ISIS and regime’s attacks on the liberated areas,” Meslet said.
On the ground, rebel battalions retook the villages of Umm al-Qira and Kafra farmlands north of Aleppo north after clashes with ISIS. Rebels also repelled ISIS attack on the villages of Dalha and Harjila north of Aleppo, while activists documented 32 people killed in regime air raids on these towns. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
