Secretary of the political committee Anas al-Abdah said that the Iranian regime is not eligible whatsoever to propose initiatives for a political solution in Syria given the fact that Syrians see Iran as an occupying country and supporting the murderous Assad regime militarily, financially and politically.
“The only Iranian initiative that the Syrian people accept is when the Iranian regime withdraws its sectarian militias that wreak havoc and death in Syria,” Abdah said.
“While the Syrian Coalition and the revolution’s forces may agree on a mechanism for a political solution based on the Geneva I Communique, they will not walk out on the Geneva I Communique which calls for the formation of a transitional governing body with full powers that will lead Syria out of war and destruction caused by the Assad regime.”
“Any talk about a of national unity government is an unacceptable fallacy as it aims to circumvent the Geneva I Communique and reproduce the Assad regime.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
