Member of the Syrian Coalition Dr. Jawad Abu Hatab call on Syrian doctors outside Syria to return to the liberated areas to ease the severe shortage in medical personnel in the liberated areas. Abu Hatab, a surgeon currently working in the liberated areas, said that the Assad regime’s systematic and deliberate targeting of hospitals led to shortage in medical personnel, pointing out that only 20% of medical staff working in the liberated areas are professional doctors while the rest are trainees and volunteers.
Abu Hatab contributed to the establishing of the Medical Technical Institute to train medical staff, including nurses and obstetricians. He also said that this move is part of the re-operation of Aleppo University in collaboration with the Interim Minister of Education and the committee in charge with the reoperation of Aleppo University.
