The Syrian Coalition said that the Assad regime continues to hinder the entry of humanitarian aid into besieged areas, warning that this will reflect negatively on the political process and the upcoming round of Geneva negotiations.
During a teleconference between the Syrian Coalition and Rural Damascus provincial council earlier today, President Abdah outlined the Coalition’s plan of action for the next phase. He said that the plan is aimed mainly at reaching out to the revolutionary bodies inside Syria and boosting the relationship with provincial councils and giving them a greater role in the management of the liberated areas.
The teleconference also discussed the latest field and political developments, the “cessation of hostilities” agreement, and the aftermath of the massacre committed by the Assad regime in the town of Der al-Assafir last week. Conferees also discussed the humanitarian situation and the state of services in rural Damascus.
The Coalition reiterated condemnation of the massacre that claimed the lives of tens of civilians. It pointed out that it would press friendly countries during the next round of negotiations in Geneva to focus on the need to lift the blockades on all besieged areas and the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in need.
Members in Rural Damascus provincial council said that the council carried out projects in the fields of agriculture, development and medical services, adding they have developed projects in the field of human resources in western Ghouta.
In addition to President Abdah, the teleconference was attended by Vice-president Muwaffaq Nyrabiya, Secretary-General Abdul Ilah al-Fahd and members of the political committee. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
