Activists in rural Idlib said Russian forces committed a horrible massacre against unarmed civilians in the town of Mishmishan in western rural Idlid when Russian jets hit the town with several high-explosive missiles on Wednesday, November 9th. Dozens of civilians were also killed in airstrikes by warplanes of the international anti-ISIS coalition on the village of Heisha in northern rural Raqqa on Tuesday, November 8th.
At least six civilians were killed in the Russian airstrikes on Heisha as civil defense teams continue to pull victims trapped under the rubble of bombed houses.
The “Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently” media campaign said that multiple airstrikes by the international anti-ISSI coalition jets hit the village of Heisha on Wednesday, killing 23 civilians and injuring dozens more. The bodies of some of the victims could not be identified, while most of the residents of the village fled their homes for fear of a recurrence of bombardment.
The international anti-ISIS forces have already committed several massacres against unarmed civilians in northern Syria by mistakenly targeting civilian areas, especially in the provinces of Deir Ezzor, Aleppo and Raqqa. Hundreds of civilians have been killed in airstrikes the international anti-ISIS coalition said they targeted ISIS positions.
The Assad regime and Russian aircraft in late October raided a school complex and a pubic market in the town of Hass in rural Idlib using high-explosive parachute-retarded bombs. Around 26 civilians, mostly schoolchildren and teachers, were killed in the horrific attack.
In a statement released following the attack in Hass, the Syrian Coalition said that the deliberate targeting of civilians using high-explosive weapons is clearly aimed at maximizing the number of casualties; causing mayhem; forcing civilians to leave their homes; and forcing them to agree to local truces out of the framework of the political process.
The Syrian Coalition urged the US-led coalition forces to exercise the utmost caution when carrying out airstrikes on ISIS targets, calling for coordination with the FSA groups to avoid further civilian casualties. (Source: Syrian Office’s Media Office)
