Members of the Supreme Committee for Examinations and delegates of the Ministry of Education in the Syrian Interim Government visited the exam centers in northern rural Aleppo and Idlib province to ascertain the progress of the exam process.
The Directorate of Education in Aleppo announced the start of high school and elementary education examinations for the academic year 2020 on July 4.
Head of the Syrian Interim Government, Abdurrahman Mustafa, expressed the best of luck for the students. He said: “We are in urgent need for this future generation to build the homeland.”
He addressed the students by saying: “You are the hope and the future. It is you who will build the homeland. We are proud of you. We wish you success and realization of your dreams and goals.”
Civil society and international organizations sent supervisors to monitor the exams and ensure that they meet the international educational and exam standards. They issued official reports on their evaluation of the process.
The Ministry of Education managed to secure recognition for the high school certificate and elementary education certificates from Turkey, France, Germany, US, Britain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Australia , and Belgium.
A number of students holding these certificates were able to complete their education in the schools and universities of those countries. According to the Ministry of Education, around 222, 230 students sat the exams organized by the Ministry of Education, of whom 151,126 passed these exams, from 2013 to 2018.
