The Syrian Interim Government’s (SIG) Ministry of Health launched two mobile clinics in the liberated areas covering Afrin and Jarablus regions.
SIG is seeking to cover the largest possible area in northwestern Syria. A clinic is comprised of a doctor, a midwife, a nurse and a driver and treats skin diseases, non-communicable diseases, respiratory infections and epidemics.
Minister of Health, Maram Al-Sheikh, said that the mobile clinics operate under the supervision of the Health Directorate in Aleppo.
The Director of Health in Aleppo, Abdul Basit Ibrahim, said that the Ministry of Health has equipped the clinics with the necessary devices, equipment, records and logistics. It also recruited the required staff to work in these clinics.
Ibrahim explained that the mobile clinics will cover the IDP camps in Afrin regions, namely Silvana, Zagros, Al-Birin factory as well as the IDP camps in Azaz and Marea regions, namely Hur Al-Nahr, Mazraat Al-Ward, Twainah, Al-Ghoz, Al-Salihiya, Arshaf, and Al-Ayoun.
He indicated that in the first half of July, the two clinics received 657 patients, including 420 children and men and 237 women.
