The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee convened a regular meeting and discussed the latest on the ground and political developments as well as reviewed reports on the work of the SOC’s departments, offices, and committees.
SOC’s Secretary-General, Abdelbaset Abdullatif, gave an overview on the progress of the Secretariat’s work and the departments that have been recently expanded. He also talked about ongoing preparations to appoint new SOC’s representatives to Arab and Western states.
The Military Liaison Office briefed the committee about the latest military and on the ground developments, pointing out that the Assad regime and its backers continue to violate the ceasefire agreement that was reached in Sochi in March 5.
The committee also discussed the ongoing preparations for the third round of talks by the Constitutional Committee due to be held in Geneva on Monday, reaffirmed their support for the Syrian Negotiations Commission’s delegation in the hope of making progress and compensating for the months-long hiatus.
