President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr Al-Hariri, held a virtual meeting with the armed groups represented in the SOC and discussed with them the reality of the Syrian National Army and ways to develop it line with international standards.
The move came as part of the SOC’s plan to strengthen communication and coordination with all components, bodies and national figures comprising the SOC’s General Assembly.
The meeting brought together SOC’s Vice-president Ruba Habboush, Secretary-General Abdul Basit Abdul Latif, member of the political committee, Bahjat Al-Atassi, and members of the General Assembly, Bashar Al-Zoubi, Hassan Haj Ali, Muhammad Al-Fadli, Fateh Hassoun, Ahmed Othman, and Ayman Bajiku.
Participants discussed the latest political and on the ground developments, especially the situation in the liberated areas, and the ongoing violations and crimes being committed by the Assad regime and its backers and their attempts to sabotage the ceasefire agreement and advance on the liberated areas.
Al-Hariri commended the work of the Syrian National Army and the decision by the majority of opposition armed groups to move their headquarters to outside the towns and villages.
Participants also discussed following up on the implementation of the SOC’s plan of action which aims to improve the reality of Syrians in Syria and abroad by paying attention to their problems and trying to find solutions to them as well as working to empower the Syrian Interim Government to improve services in the liberated areas.
They stressed that the Syrian revolution will face major challenges in the months to come, stressing the pressing need to strengthen cooperation and coordination and for all SOC’s components to join hands to confront these challenges. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
