President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr al-Hariri, visited the town of Ras al-Ayn in rural al-Hasaka and the town of Tal Abyad in rural al-Raqqa province to ascertain the work of services and military institutions, the needs of the population, and their living conditions.
Al-Hariri was accompanied by Vice-president Ruba Habboush, Secretary-General Abdelbaset Abdullatif, Secretary of the political committee Riyad al-Hassan, SOC’s members Bahjat Atassi, Yasser al-Farhan, Adnan Rahmoun and Muhammad Qaddah.
The tour began with a visit to the border crossing at Tal Abyad where the SOC’s delegation met with the director of the crossing Fayez Al-Katie and the administrative staff. The two sides discussed the commercial movement at the border crossing and the services it provides to citizens.
The delegation also visited the headquarters of the Syrian National Army’s (SNA) Third Corps in Tal Abyad. Al-Hariri talked about strengthening the SOC’s work in the liberated areas and the continued improvement of the security situation, supporting the Syrian Interim Government (SIG); and improving basic services.
Al-Hariri stressed the need to make every effort to improve security and the living conditions in the liberated areas as well as encourage the people to return to their lands and homes.
Moreover, the delegation visited the local council in Tal Abyad where they met head of the council Wael Al-Hamdu and members of the executive council. The two sides discussed the situation in the region, the basic services in Tal Abyad, and the projects that the council is implementing to meet the needs of the population.
Al-Hariri stressed the importance of improving the organizational and administrative work, improving the basic services and infrastructure, and the launch of development programs as key to improving the living conditions for the population.
