Secretary-General of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Abdelbaset Abdullatif, submitted the periodic report on the work of the General Secretariat, in which he detailed its work in recent months. The work focused on promoting institutional work, improving the intra-Syrian communication, and providing the necessary support for the activities of the SOC’s departments, offices and committees.
Abdullatif gave an overview on the work of the General Secretariat in enhancing the presence of the SOC in the liberated areas by developing the administrative work of the SOC’s offices, providing them with qualified staff, completing the organizational and administrative procedures, and empowering the activities of those offices.
Abdullatif pointed to cooperation and coordination with the Syrian Interim Government and the Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU) in operational matters related to the provision of services to citizen in the liberated areas and host countries. He pointed out that the General Secretariat has been conveying inquiries and complaints submitted by citizens to the Syrian Interim Government to be addressed by a special committee.
Abdullatif talked about the role of the General Secretariat in following up the work of the Supreme Hajj Committee and supporting its work. The Committee secured Covid-19 vaccines for its workers and administrators in the liberated areas and in Turkey. It also participated in the international conference of the Hajj Symposium which was organized by the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs.
Moreover, he highlighted the role of the General Secretariat in the work of the Syrian-Turkish Joint Committee which is tasked with resolving the issues Syrian refugees in Turkey are facing.
