Vice President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Ruba Habboush, participated in a ceremony to honor highest-scoring Syrian students in the Turkish province of Hatay on Friday. The ceremony, which was organized by the Henna Humanitarian Organization, was attended by nearly 600 women and saw the honoring of 97 Syrian students at the invitation of the organization’s president, Raniya Sheikh Mustafa.
Habboush said: “I feel proud you, young women. You are a source of pride for every Syrian. You are real ambassadors for Syria. Wherever they go, Syrian students are proving their worth. At the beginning of every summer, we hear good news of outstanding success by Syrian students in all countries of the world, especially neighboring countries.”
Habboush stressed that “Syrian students are in a real battle for self-building, completing the journey of learning, acquiring new skills, and obtaining the highest certificates. Syria needs every young man and woman to contribute to its material and moral recovery.”
“The murderous Assad regime tried to obliterate Syria’s civilized features, but the Syrian people, with their ancient and deep-rooted civilization, thwarted these miserable attempts through their great steadfastness on their land in the face of the most brutal forces, and outside their land through excellence in education, work, creativity and invention.”
Habboush added that Syria’s future is woven through building Syrian capacities and competencies in various countries of the world. She said that Syrian students offer Syria the best gift through their continued successes and advancement in education and obtaining higher degrees. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
