The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) denounced the use of arms by some armed opposition groups in northern Syria to resolve disputes, calling on everyone to immediately stop the infighting in order to prevent further bloodshed and to preserve the gains of the revolution in the freed territories.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the SOC said “Infighting endangers the lives of millions of our people in the freed territories and poses a serious, existential threat to the revolution and freed territories which are still at a serious risk of attack by the Assad regime forces and terrorist militias which seek to have a foothold in these territories.
Moreover, infighting risks discrediting the revolution for which the Syrian people are making tremendous sacrifices. The weapons of the revolutions must always be directed at the enemies until they the Syrian people regain freedom and overthrew the Assad regime.”
The SOC called upon all members of the Syrian National Army to live up to their responsibility with regard to protecting the lives of our great people who have been suffering from injustice, brutality and betrayal for eleven years.
The SOC also stressed that “all disputes or problems must be resolved through peaceful means, and the parties must resort to the arbitration of the wise people instead of infighting, whatever the reasons. We also call for holding accountable the corrupt individuals, criminals and whoever is involved in violations against our people in the freed territories.”
