On the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the delegation of the Syrian Negotiations Commission, led by President Badr Jamous, held a meeting at the Dutch mission headquarters with Marc Gerritsen, the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the Commission’s delegation emphasized the urgency of advancing the political process and establishing effective mechanisms for the international community to fulfill its role in implementing UN Resolution 2254, to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people.
The Commission’s delegation stressed the importance of supporting the United Nations’ efforts to achieve a political solution based on UN Resolution 2254, comprehensive implementation of all related issues, and the initiation of a sincere political process that aligns with the aspirations of the Syrian people and their just cause.
Mr. Gerritsen, in turn, expressed his commitment to accountability and justice in Syria, as well as his country’s dedication to the European Union’s stance in supporting the Syrian people on both political and humanitarian fronts.
