On the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, President of the Syrian Negotiations Commission, Badr Jamous, held a meeting with Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary-General and Political Director of the European Union External Action Service. They discussed the latest developments in the political process concerning the Syrian issue.
During their meeting at the European Union mission headquarters in New York, Jamous emphasized to Mora the significance of the European Union’s support for the political process. He underscored that there will be no reconstruction, sanctions will not be lifted, and no normalization with the Assad regime until a political transition occurs in accordance with UN resolutions.
The Commission also called for increased humanitarian and educational assistance for Syrians in both Syria and host countries, expressing gratitude to the European Union for its generous support to Syrian refugees.
In response, Mora reiterated the European Union’s commitment to supporting the Syrian people, the political process, and the pursuit of freedom and justice in the Syrian cause.
