The Office of Civil Society Organizations in the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) has unveiled its work plan for the upcoming phase. This plan follows an assessment of the current situation and the workshops and activities conducted in recent months in collaboration with Syrian civil society organizations, focusing on relief efforts, cross-border aid, and the health sector.
Zuhair Muhammad, the coordinator of the Office, emphasized that their efforts will be directed towards enhancing interaction and cooperation among individuals, institutions, and civil organizations. Their goal is to bring about a positive transformation in the lives of individuals and communities while promoting sustainable development.
Muhammad highlighted that in the next phase, the SOC’s capabilities will be bolstered in humanitarian, administrative, and supervisory aspects, establishing it as a partner with international organizations and institutions. He also underscored that a crucial objective for this phase is to update the specialized archive concerning active organizations in Syria, their activities, and the challenges they encounter. This includes fostering communication with both local and international organizations, sustaining meetings with diverse organizations, and implementing feasible recommendations.
Muhammad further noted that cooperation and coordination will persist, with alliances being formed with Syrian civil society organizations, the Association of Networks, and the Syrian Women’s Humanitarian Association. Additionally, there will be an emphasis on strengthening international collaboration with organizations engaged in Syrian affairs.
He also mentioned upcoming workshops with Syrian human rights organizations in Istanbul and educational organizations in Gaziantep, along with planned visits to civil society organizations for the exchange and coordination of joint efforts and meetings with relevant stakeholders.
