The Department of Political Parties and Movements within the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) has conducted its inaugural meeting for the new presidential term, during which it formulated an action plan to establish communication and relationships with Syrian, Arab, and international parties. The primary objective is to create a network for effective engagement with various parties, entities, and political frameworks.
This crucial meeting, dedicated to shaping the work plan for the upcoming phase, was attended by all department members, including SOC’s Vice President Abdel Majeed Barakat, and department members Abdullah Kaddo, Farouk Tayfour, Muhammad Ali Issa, and Yahya Maktabi.
The department outlined its goals, which encompass the establishment of a robust political network to foster political development and public awareness in line with the revolutionary objectives. It also aims to establish a consultative forum for Syrian national parties aligned with the pro-revolution stance, contributing to the formulation of a mutually agreed-upon national discourse adaptable to the various stages and evolutions of the Syrian revolution.
Furthermore, the department emphasized the importance of conducting a comprehensive survey of pro-revolution political parties, movements, and frameworks, along with direct engagement with key political forces within Syria and abroad that are not currently represented within the SOC. Additionally, the Department is committed to engaging with political movements already part of the SOC and connecting with non-Syrian political parties advocating for the Syrian people’s cause.
As part of its proposed strategy, the department seeks to expand its outreach and meetings with Arab and international political parties and blocs, which includes Turkish parties and other entities operating in Turkey.
