The Free Aleppo Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health in the Syrian Interim Government reported that 574 people benefited from the ambulance and emergency system services in rural Aleppo last May.
The Directorate detailed that 110 beneficiaries were in the town of Al-Bab, 142 in Mare’, 231 in Azaz, and 91 in Jarabulus.
The ambulance and emergency system resumed operations in January 2024, funded by the Syria Recovery Trust Fund. This initiative covers northern Aleppo’s countryside, aiming to strengthen health services amidst the region’s humanitarian challenges, improve healthcare standards, and provide effective medical care. It significantly enhances the ability of medical teams to respond to emergencies swiftly and efficiently.
The ambulance and emergency system within the Free Aleppo Health Directorate is crucial for regularly transporting patients with chronic illnesses, who are particularly vulnerable to harsh weather conditions. This service helps preserve their health and ensures they receive necessary care promptly.
