Assad regime forces persist in targeting civilian areas in northern Syria, resulting in multiple civilian casualties. According to local activists, on Monday, Assad regime forces conducted artillery shelling in the countryside of Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, and Latakia. The towns and villages of Kafr Ama, Kafr Nuran, and Kafr Ta’al in the western countryside of Aleppo were specifically targeted, with no recorded civilian casualties
Similarly, several towns and villages in the Idlib countryside, including Al-Fatira, Kafr Aweid, Sufuhan, Fleifel, and Deir Sunbul, were subjected to artillery shelling by Assad regime forces, yet no civilian casualties were reported.
The artillery bombardment extended to the vicinity of the villages of Al-Sarmaniyah and Dawir Al-Akrad in the western countryside of Hama. Additionally, the Al-Tuffahiyah and Jabal Al-Turkmen area in the northern countryside of Latakia were targeted.
The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) emphasized that the ongoing military assaults by the Assad regime and Russia on civilian areas disrupt stability and security, hindering residents from leading their daily lives and forcing them into a perpetual state of anxiety and displacement. The SOC reiterated that these recurrent attacks are compelling people to flee, a policy that has persisted for the past 12 years.
