Dozens of protesters converged on Suwayda’s central Karama Square on Tuesday, marking the seventeenth consecutive day of ongoing anti-regime protests. These daily demonstrations reflect the local people’s demands for political change and the removal of the Assad regime.
Local activists have reported a big anti-regime gathering in Amtan, situated south of Suwayda, which took place on Monday. The demonstration saw participation from residents of several villages, including Melh, Arman, Salkhad, Qaisma, Al-Hawiya, Shanira, Sama, and Dhibin. Chants demanding the ousting of the regime’s leader and the disbandment of Iranian militias resonated throughout the event.
Meanwhile, Syrian communities abroad have orchestrated numerous sit-ins in various European capitals and cities in recent days, demonstrating their unwavering solidarity with the popular anti-regime movements in Daraa and Suwayda. Their unified voice calls for a transformative shift in the political landscape.
In addition to these efforts, the past few days have also witnessed anti-regime demonstrations in Idlib, Deir Ezzor, and Aleppo. These expressions of support stand as a testament to the solidarity extended to the demonstrators in Daraa and Suwayda.
