At least 12 civilians were killed and many others were injured in bombardment by the Assad regime and Russian warplanes on rural Aleppo on Monday.
The Syrian Civil Defense said that attacks by Russian jets and Assad regime helicopter killed seven people from one family, all of them children and women, and wounded many others in the Rahal Association region west of Aleppo.
Two more children and a woman were killed in similar attacks on the town of Bala and Kafrnaha in western rural Aleppo, while many others were injured in the towns of Hureitan, Al-Atareb, Kafr Dael, Barnah, Mansoura, Zurba, Zaitan, and Qayloun.
Violent airstrikes hit the town of Arnaz, injuring a child and causing widespread material damage. Russian airstrikes also hit the town of Al-Bab northeast of Aleppo for the first time in several years.
The Russian and Assad regime forces have been committing widespread war crimes in Idlib and southwestern rural Aleppo since they unleashed a ferocious bombing campaign in the region on April 26, 2019.
The Syrian National Coalition said that the international inaction is mainly to blame for the ongoing carnage in northwestern Syria. President Anas al-Abda pointed out that the positions of the states “that are supposed to be friendly to the Syrian people and supporters of their cause fell short of expectations.”
“We are putting constant pressure on those states,” al-Abda said in a press conference held in rural Aleppo on Monday, adding that the world is showing total indifference to what is happening in Idlib. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
