The Syrian Network for Human Rights said that it had documented 25 massacres committed by regime forces backed by sectarian militias such as Hezbollah and Abou El Fadl Abbas militias against civilians in September. Over 500 people, including 122 children and 84 women, were killed in these massacres, cited as: Seven in Damascus, six in Aleppo, four in each of Idlib and Deir Ezzor, two in each of Raqqa and Homs, and one in each of Hasakah and Hama. The biggest of these massacres in terms of the number of victims was the Douma massacre, in which at least 70 people were killed and 200 wounded according to activists who confirmed that Assad’s air force conducted six air raids on civilian homes, destroying 10 residential buildings and causing fires in the nearby buildings. The Syrian Network for Human Rights documented the names of 58 victims killed in this district. Other massacres included the use of knives to kill civilians, as in the town of Dimo west of Hama when pro-Assad militants stormed the town on September 17 and stabbed 13 civilians to death. One more massacre was committed by the Kurdish YPG militias in the villages of Tal Khalil, Hajiya and Sharmoukh in Al Hasaka province, where 55 civilians, including 13 children and five women, were killed when the YPG militiamen stormed these villages and summarily executed the victims, while an entire family was killed when an RPG shell fired by the YPG militias hit their house in Tal Khalil.
