Activists said that at least 29 civilians, including women and children, were killed and 60 more injured as a result of aerial bombing by the Assad regime and Russian forces on several parts of Aleppo late on Wednesday.
Dozens of airstrikes targeted the rebel-held neighborhoods of Alsha’ar, Hanano, Alsalihin, Alma’adi, and Almarja. The towns of Hayyan, Huraytan and Kafar Hamra in rural Aleppo were also targetted with similar attacks on Wednesday.
The activists added that the airstrikes directly hit Alhakim and Albayan hospitals in the neighborhood of Alsha’ar, causing the disruption of services in the hospitals. A clinic in the neighborhood also had to shut down after it was directly hit by an airstrike that also caused damage to the nearby buildings.
Spokesman for the Turkish Presidency Ibrahim Kalin on Wednesday said that the Assad regime has systematically violated the February 27 cessation of hostilities agreement, causing the suspension of the latest round of the Geneva negotiations. He added that the situation in Syria grows worse by the day, especially in Aleppo and its surroundings. (Source: Syrian Coalition + The New Arab)
