Activists said that a least 55 civilians have been killed and nearly 250 more wounded in airstrikes and barrel bomb attacks by the Assad regime and Russian forces on Aleppo province since early morning.
At least 10 civilians were killed when a Russian jet hit a civilian bus on the Castello road north of Aleppo in the morning hours of Friday. Russian airstrikes also targeted the neighborhoods of Alkallasa and Alansari, killing 9 people and wounding dozens more. A total of 13 rebel-held districts have been hit by Russian airstrikes as of Friday noon.
Russian airstrikes also targeted the towns of Huraytan, Anadan, Kafar Hamrah and Almallah in northern rural Aleppo, causing dozens civilian casualties. Russian jets also launched intense airstrikes on the towns of Khan Touman, Aleis and Alzorba in southern rural Aleppo.
Dozens of civilian casualties were also reported as a result of airstrikes on the towns of Kafar Naha and Aanjarah in western rural Aleppo alongside artillery and rocket shelling on Almuhandiseen area.
The intense aerial bombardment on northern and western rural Aleppo coupled with the attacks by the PYD militias have prompted a mass exodus of people towards less dangerous areas in the north of Syria.
Earlier on Friday, the FSA groups recaptured several points they earlier lost to ISIS in northern rural Aleppo, killing and injuring dozens of militants of the extremist group. The FSA and other rebel groups have captured large parts of the town of Maaratah and Khan Touman warehouses south of Aleppo after violent clashes with Iranian-backed militias and regime forces.
