Head of the Syrian Interim Government (SIG) Jawad Abu Hatab highlighted SIG’s role in the restoration of state institutions and the provision of services to civilians at a meeting with a delegation from the French Foreign Ministry and the French embassy in Turkey in SIG’s office in the Turkish city of Gaziantep on Wednesday.
Abu Hatab presented the French delegation with a detailed overview of the activities being carried out by SIG and its plans as well as the distribution of its ministries in the liberated areas across Syria.
For their part, the French officials praised SIG’s role and the achievements it made in a short period of time despite the difficult circumstances. The delegation said they would continue to coordinate with SIG in all areas.
Meanwhile, Minister of Education in SIG Imad Barq said that the Ministry had delivered textbooks to schools in the liberated areas in Syria through Bab al-Hawa border crossing.
Barq pointed out that the Ministry procured over half a million textbooks for all stages with the curriculum adopted by the Ministry. The textbooks will suffice all schools in the liberated areas across Syria, he added.
Barq sent a letter of thanks to Qatar Charity organization for its support for the project to print the textbooks. The Ministry has coordinated with the organization for about a year to implement the project.
