The Assad regime and Russian air forces bombed two hospitals in the provinces of Hama and Aleppo on Friday, putting them out of service.
Activists in northern rural Hama said that regime helicopters dropped barrel bombs on the Specialist Hospital in the town of Kafr Zita late on Friday. A number of the medical staff members were injured in the bombing which also caused massive damage to the building and equipment. The same hospital was hit by Russian jets in September.
Meanwhile, activists in western rural Aleppo said that three Russian airstrikes hit the Ansar National Hospital on Friday, putting it completely out of service.
Abdul Rahman Emo, a doctor working in the hospital, told Baladi News Network that the hospital received 7,000 patients a month and provided them with medical services in all areas of specialties, including general, orthopedic, and ear surgery, as well gynecology and pediatrics.
Emo said that western rural Aleppo is home to about 200,000 people who live mainly in the towns of Orm Alqubra, Khan Alassal, Kafr Dael, and Kafr Naha.
Russian jets in early September bombed two hospitals and a clinic in western rural Aleppo. Russian jets also bombed an underground Hospital in Kafr Zeta in October, putting it completely out of service.
The Syrian Coalition said that the deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure using high-explosive weapons is clearly designed to achieve a number of objectives including maximizing the number of casualties; causing mayhem; forcing civilians to leave their homes and areas; and forcing civilians to agree to so called local truces that do not fall within the framework of the political process.
