Syrian activists have launched an online campaign called “Aleppo Day of Rage” to draw attention to the brutal onslaught in recent months on the city by the Assad regime and Russian forces. Organizers of the campaign called on Syrians abroad to take to the streets in capitals across the world on Sunday, July 31 to denounce the relentless bombardment and besiegement of the city by the Assad regime and its Russian allies.
The campaign aims to shed light on the suffering of nearly 400,000 people trapped in the city’s eastern parts which have been subjected to brutal daily bombardment by the Assad regime and Russian forces using internationally banned weapons.
Lebanese activists also sent calls on social media for all Lebanese people to organize a sit-in in solidarity with Aleppo in Samir Kassir Park in Beirut at 19:30 local time on Sunday in order to denounce the genocidal war and the blockade the Assad regime and Russian forces have imposed on the city.
Activists in Aleppo launched an online campaign called “Putin is a war criminal” to expose Russia’s crimes in Syria, especially in Aleppo.
President of the Syrian Coalition Anas Alabdah on Thursday called on all rebel and FSA groups operating in Aleppo and its countryside to close ranks and unite against the Russian-led onslaught on the city. He also called on all Syrians abroad to take to the streets in capitals across the world to denounce the crimes of the Assad regime and Russia in Aleppo.
