The Syrian people took to the streets on Friday in many cities and towns across Syria chanting for freedom and demanding the fall of the Assad regime. They have once again reaffirmed commitment to the goals of the revolution, namely to overthrow the Assad regime and create a state of justice and law, freedom, dignity and equity.
Demonstrators in the provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, Homs, Damascus and Dara’a raised the flag of the revolution and chanted the revolution’s famous slogans: “The people want the downfall of the regime” and “the “Syrian people are one!”
Demonstrators also called for lifting the siege imposed by the Assad regime on civilians in many areas across Syria and for stepping up support for the Free Syrian Army to enable it expel the terrorist foreign militias that Iran brought in from all over the world to aid Assad in the killing of the Syrian people.
Member of the Syrian Coalition Suheir al-Atassi said that the Syrian revolution began as peaceful demonstrations but the state terrorism practiced by Assad and his security forces has forced many to defect from the army and join the revolution to defend civilians.
Atassi said that these demonstrations reflect the true image of Syria and the Syrian revolution, adding that such demonstrations provide an alternative to the murderous Assad regime. She pointed out that Syria has a deep-rooted civilization that dates back to thousands of years, stressing that neither the Assad regime nor its allied militias nor ISIS can distort this bright image.
