Activists in rural Idlib said that the Assad regime forces positioned in the town of Al-Nairab east of Idlib fled their positions just one hour after the start of a military operation by the Syrian National Army in cooperation with the Turkish army to regain the areas from which the SNA retreated a few days ago.
Local activists said that the SNA offensive began around noon on Thursday against the Assad regime forces and Iranian militias in rural Aleppo and Idlib. Fighters of the SNA and the Turkish army shot down two reconnaissance aircraft, one of which is Russian, and destroyed a number of tanks and vehicles belonging to the Assad regime forces.
Dozens of Assad’s forces and Iranian militias were killed and injured in the SNA offensive amid a rapid advance by the SNA near the town of Al-Nairab.
Local activists on Thursday morning published videos and photos showing Turkish tanks and SNA military vehicles advancing towards the town of Saraqib and western rural Aleppo in preparation for a military operation to restore the areas that fell to the Assad regime’s forces and Iranian militias over the past few days.
