The town of Al-Bab northeast of Aleppo has witnessed escalated barrel bombing recently, killing and injuring dozens and causing massive damage to residential neighborhoods and infrastructure. At least three civilians were killed with 20 wounded when a barrel bomb hit a market in the town of Kabbasin close to Al-Bab.
Assad’s helicopters also dropped eight barrel bombs on Al-Bab yesterday, hitting a school, a public park, a mosque, the market and a hospital causing bloodshed that claimed the lives of 35 civilians. In three days a total of 75 civilians were killed and dozens wounded in the town.
The Syrian National Coalition calls upon the UN Security Council to support the establishment of a safe zone in northern and southern Syria to mitigate the damage caused by the regime’s indiscriminate aerial attacks, including barrel bombs.
The Assad regime’s response to the rebels’ advance on Dara’a and their heroic resistance in Zabadani was to intensify aerial bombing and barrel bomb attacks on residential areas in Dara’a and the surrounding area. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
