Mohiuddin Binanah, Minister of Education in the Syrian interim government, met with the French Consul in Turkey. The meeting discussed the educational status of the displaced Syrian students in neighboring countries and in the schools inside Syria. Binanah briefed the French Consul about the Assad regime’s deliberate targeting of schools and schoolchildren, which claimed the lives of thousands of students and teachers, and the displacement of very large numbers of students. Binanah also pointed out that the ministry is working with private entities to provide appropriate schooling for all Syrian students. He also met with a Jordanian delegation representing a private educational institution that intends to open schools in Turkey for displaced Syrian students under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. Binanah promised to study the proposal and to take the appropriate decision. (Source: Syrian Interim Government)
