The Syrian Civil Defense Corps said that well over 2,029 civilians were killed in attacks by the Assad regime and Russian forces on northwestern Syria in the period between April 26, 2019 and March 5.
According to figures the rescue group published on social media, the victims included 483 children, 338 women, and 17 volunteers with the Syrian Civil Defense.
The rescue group pointed out that at least 5,281 civilians, including 1,201 children, 867 women, and 77 volunteers with the Syrian Civil Defense were injured in these attacks in the same period.
The Civil Defense also said that bombardment by the Assad regime and Russian forces targeted at least 14,386 sites.
It indicated that the Assad regime carried out 11,622 attacks, while Russian forces launched 2,405 attacks on vital centers in the region, including 31 hospitals, 22 bakeries, 83 popular markets, 48 mosques, 18 IDP camps, 113 schools, and 64 civil defense centers. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
