Activists said that six civilians were killed and many others were wounded in airstrikes by the Assad regime and Russian forces in Idlib province on Tuesday. The airstrikes directly targeted populated areas.
The victims included three civilians who were killed in bombardment in the town of Khan Sheikhoun, while three others were killed in similar attacks in the town of Ma’aret Hurmah. Aerial and artillery bombardment by regime forces also injured a woman in the town of Kafar Sijna.
The Syrian Civil Defense said that it counted more than 53 airstrikes and 60 artillery shells that hit Idlib province on Tuesday. It noted that the Assad regime and Russian forces were using cluster bombs and the incendiary phosphorous in these attacks.
