The Disaster Management Commission in Eastern Ghouta and the Jobar neighborhood declared them disaster areas, calling on the international community to intervene immediately to stop the barbaric and systematic bombing by Assad’s forces on civilians across Syria, particularly in eastern Ghouta and the Jobar neighborhood of Damascus.
The commission also calls for opening humanitarian corridors for relief organizations to enter the area and assess the humanitarian situation and facilitate the entry of food and medical supplies.
The commission also calls for neutralizing and protection of civilians from flagrant violations of their human rights by the terrorist Assad regime.
Rebel-held eastern Ghouta and the Jobar neighborhood have been languishing under non-stop bombardment by regime forces, which left an appalling number civilian casualties and massive destruction.
Life conditions were further exacerbated by a crippling siege imposed by regime force for nearly two towers, causing severe shortage of basic and life-saving needs. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
