Activists said that dozens of pro-regime militants were killed or inured in an ambush set up by rebel fighters earlier today in Al-Rashideen neighborhood in Aleppo. Pro-regime forces positioned in the town of Khan Tuman were trying to advance on the rebel-held neighborhood, but they were repelled.
Violent clashes continue to rage in the area alongside loud explosions resulting from intensive air strikes by the Russian air force and artillery and rocket shelling by regime forces on rebel positions.
Meanwhile, rebel fighters repelled attempts by regime forces to advance on Mseibeen hill in northern rural of Aleppo, with reports of regime losses.
Activists also said that ISIS resumed heavy artillery shelling on the rebel-held town of Marea in northern rural Aleppo.
