The Eastern Ghouta Women Center for Training and Rehabilitation, a branch of the Syrian Coalition’s office in eastern Ghouta, organized a sit-in calling on the international community and the United Nations to work on protecting civilians from the fighting in Syria in general and in eastern Ghouta in particular. They also called to stop the bombing of residential areas and the massacres in eastern Ghouta and for opening humanitarian corridors to enter relief and medical aid.
Representatives from most of the women’s events in eastern Ghouta participated in the sit-in under the slogan: “We have the right to live in safety, enough blood.” Participants included women from Eastern Ghouta Women Center for Training and Rehabilitation, Trail of Hope Center, Bright Hope Center, Shaam Human Rights Center, Swaiduna Center, Anwar al-Islam Center, representatives of schools, and the local council’s women office.
