The Interim Ministry of Culture and Family Affairs organized the “For You Syria” marathon in the Turkish city of Gaziantep to raise awareness of Assad’s atrocities against the Syrian people.
Interim Minister of Culture Samah Hadaya said that “this stance of solidarity is an attempt to support our people in Syria, and assure them that we stand united though we are forced into exile. We organized this event for all detainees and the forcibly disappeared persons in Assad’s prisons, for the families of the fallen heroes, and for the rebel fighters who fight heroically against the Assad regime.”
“Such events aim to draw the world’s attention to the Assad regime’s ongoing crimes, as tens of thousands of Syrians are now living under the suffocating siege in the Yarmouk refugee camp, Deir Ezzor, Idlib and in Homs. It also aims to expose Assad’s brutal bombing of Aleppo and all liberated areas that have been subjected to constant bombardment, starvation, murder and destruction.”
At the end of the marathon participants held placards written on them the names of Syrian cities being bombed and starved by the Assad regime. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
