The Religious Council in Aleppo recommended suspending Friday prayers for today in the city as a result of the deadly airstrikes launched by Assad and Russian warplanes in Aleppo for the tenth consecutive day.
A statement issued by the council on Thursday said that “because of the deadly campaign launched by the enemies of humanity represented by the Assad and Russian bombardment of civilian areas, markets, schools and mosques using all types of weapons and at any time, and due to the high risk for people to gather in one place, the religious council asks those in charge in mosques to suspend Friday prayers and to perform al-Duher (the noon) prayer to make up for them.”
Regime and Russian forces have recently intensified aerial bombardment of rebel-held parts in Aleppo, carrying out seven massacres in which over 200 civilians were killed and hundreds more were injured.
The most brutal airstrikes targeted Al-Quds Hospital in the neighborhood of Al-Sukkari and a center for the Civil Defense Corps in the town of Al-Atareb in rural Aleppo. Dozens of civilians, including medical staff members and rescue workers, were killed in the attacks. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
