A total of 13 groups of the FSA’s Southern Front announced the launch of a new offensive against regime forces in the province of Qunteitra. The FSA groups said the offensive is aimed at easing pressure on the besieged district of Daraya through advancing on regime positions in the area known as the “triangle of death;” an area that sprawls parts of the provinces of Dara’a, Quneitra and Rural Damascus.
As part of the offensive, the Shabab Alsunnah FSA group of the Southern Front earlier today attacked regime positions on the outskirts of Bosra Alsham in eastern rural Dara’a. Fighters of the FSA group clashed with regime forces near the Barad regime checkpoint, the first line of defense of the city of Alswaidaa’.
The 13 FSA groups that announced the offensive are: The Furqan Brigades, the Artillery Regiment, Syria’s Revolutionaries Front, Ansar Alislam, Burqn Horan, Alsubtain Brigade, Badr Alislam, Ahrar Alislam, Ajnad Alsham, Shuhadaa’ Alhurriya, Division 46, Tawhid Horan, and Alkarama Brigade.
