Hundreds of internally displaced people demonstrated in the town of Al-Bab in northern rural Aleppo demanding the return to their towns and villages and the release of detainees from the prisons of the Assad regime.
Local activists said that hundreds of people from all Syrian regions gathered in Al-Bab after the Friday congregational prayers in a demonstration that was held under the title “the return of IDP to their homes and the downfall of the regime.”
The demonstrators held signs that read “this is a revolution of a people and will continue until the overthrow of the regime,” and “we will not back down unless the displaced people return to their homes,” and “the people want to overthrow the criminal Assad regime.”
The demonstrators reaffirmed their commitment to their right to return to their areas of origin. They also reaffirmed their commitment to the goals for which the Syrian people rose up in 2011, most notably the overthrow of the regime.
Hundreds of people gathered on the road linking the town of Sarmin and Idlib on May 25th. They held a demonstration under the title “the flood of return” during which they demanded the return of the IDP to their towns and villages and reaffirmed commitment to the goals and demands of the Syrian revolution.
